Meta Quest 2, Pro or 3 Stopped Working After an Update? Learn About Your Options

Information about this incident and a simple way to see if you may qualify to be connected with independent attorneys.

What happened

Owners of Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro, and Quest 3 headsets report that their devices stopped working immediately after a software/firmware update (including references to v79). Reported symptoms include a green LED with no boot, black screens after the Meta logo, boot loops, repeated power cycles, and failed update completion.

Users on the official Meta Community Forums say the failures were not caused by physical damage or user error, and that factory resets, manual update attempts and support contacts did not resolve the issue. Some users report replacement requests for out-of-warranty units were denied.

  • Multiple reports on official Meta forums in a short period
  • No fix, rollback or replacement program announced for all affected owners, per user reports

Possible remedies

Possible remedies, if any, depend on the facts of your situation and applicable law and may include, for example, repair or replacement. No outcome or payment is guaranteed.
